Apricot and Sultana Flapjacks


2 Cups of Oats
1 cup Chopped Apricots
1 cup Sultanas
1/2 Cup Margerine
2 - 3 Tablespoons Golden Syrup
1 teaspoon molasses (optional)
1/2 Ground almonds
Handful of Sesame Seeds
Handful of Sunflower Seeds
1 cup of Sugar
1 banana, mashed
1 tsp mixed spice
Dash of Vanilla essence

Pre heat the over to 180 degrees centigrate (or gas mark 5)

1.Pour Boiling water over the apricots and sultanas, enough to just cover, leave to soak.

2. In a saucepan, melt the margerine with the syrup and molasses

3. Mix the Oats, Ground Almonds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and sugar in a bowl.

4. Add the Vanilla essence and the mixed Spice.

5. Combine all ingredients together in the bowl. Add more Oats if the mixture is particually wet.

6. Cook in the oven for approximately 20 minutes, until golden brown.
